Doctor Consultations Are $0 for Insured Visits
Alberta Health Card holders can see an Alberta doctor online at $0 out-of-pocket cost when the visit is for an insured physician consultation.
Some additional services are not covered by Alberta Health. These are called uninsured services.
If you request an uninsured service, such as a sick note, medical form, letter, or administrative request, a separate fee may apply.

Uninsured services are services that are not covered by Alberta Health.
These may include documents, forms, letters, administrative requests, or other services that are separate from an insured doctor consultation.

Example 1: Medical Concern Only
You speak with a doctor about a medical concern. If the visit is an insured physician consultation, the consultation is $0 out of pocket with your Alberta Health Card.
Example 2: Medical Concern + Sick Note
You speak with a doctor and request a sick note. The doctor consultation may be insured, but the sick note may have a separate uninsured service fee.
Example 3: Medical Form
You request a form to be completed. Form completion may be an uninsured service and may have a separate fee.
